BIOGRAPHIES    

 

DEBORAH HAY was born in Brooklyn. Her mother had performed with the corps de ballet at the Roxy Theater, and as her first dance teacher, she directed Hay's training until she was a teenager. Mother and daughter regularly attended Radio City Music Hall, where she most fondly remembers the Rockettes and the orchestra. (read more)

MARK LORIMER was born in the south of England in 1969. He followed a degree course in contemporary dance and choreography at London Contemporary Dance School. Joined The Featherstonehaughs under the artistic direction of Lea Anderson and performed with them in live and film works for 3 years. (read more)

ROS WARBY is a Melbourne based performer and dance maker. She has toured internationally with companies and artists including the Lucy Guerin Co (‘97), Danceworks, and Dance Exchange. Warby met Hay in 1997, and has performed Hay's FIRE as part of her SOLOS program for the past 4 years. (read more)

SCOTT HERON began dancing at Colorado College in 1983 and has been going at it ever since. In New York, he performs with countless downtown troupes and has shown his own work at many theaters including Performance Space 122, which commissioned 4 evening length works. He received a 2003 New York Dance and Performance Bessie Award for his body of work as a performer. (read more)
WALLY CARDONA Raised in California and New Mexico. Ages 7 through 9, a competitive gymnast and from ages 11 through 15, a clarinetist. 1986: a move to New York City to attend The Juilliard School (BFA in Dance '89). 1987-95: dancing with the Ralph Lemon Company. 1992: first work--Solo Alone/Add One--presented at Festival International de Danse Cannes and Judson Church (Movement Research). CHRYSA PARKINSON is a performer and teacher living in Brussels and New York. She is a member of Tere O'Connor Dance (since 1987). She is currently performing with Zoo/Thomas Hauert (BE), Jonathan Burrows (UK), and Deborah Hay. In the last couple of years she has also been performing with David Zambrano.(read more)
